ZTE Peel 3G Enabled iPod Touch Case Shows Its Face At FCCBy Jeff Baker - 07/29/2010 4:51:32 AM |
The iPod Touch and iPhone are essentially the same device besides a slightly different form factor and the presence of 3G voice/data bands (among other things, like a camera). However, it seems that a recent product that was just spotted as the FCC called the ZTE Peel is looking to blur that line even further.
This iPod Touch case will feature a build in 3G radio that can link up to your Touch that will allow the device to act virtually identical to an iPhone with 3G data anywhere you a cellphone reception is present. While the case features Sprint branding, it is to be known that this is only 3G enabled and not 4G which is quite the bummer considering Sprint’s major psuh towards 4G.
But oh well, no word on when this will be released or at what price but we’ll let you know as soon as we do. Honestly though, if you’re not looking to join AT&T and can settle for Sprint’s service but still want the iPhone experience, this case coupled with Skype may be a calling.
