Here’s a potentially mighty player from Creative, the Zen X-Fi. It’s no ordinary device either. It has WiFi, instant messaging client and built in media streaming. We have a built in speaker, and FM tuner and voice recorder. There’s an SD slot and premium quality headphones are included. The battery will give you 36 hours of audio playing and just 5 hours of video playing. My only questions at this point would be, where’s the phone chip? Where’s the GPS chip? If the X-Fi has so much stuff on already, it might be the predecessor of a Creative smartphone.
But since the Zen is just a player let’s treat it that way. You will be curios about what it actually can play right? Audio files that are MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, and Audible and video files that are WMV, MPEG4-SP, DivX 4/5, Xvid, and MJPEG will have full support. The X-Fi has a 2.5 inch display and it will offer three versions, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. Add one more inch to that screen and make it a phone.
How much it costs? When can we test drive it? We will let you know. Hopefully Creative is working on a future Zen that has even more inside. Hint hint Creative, don’t forget the Copy Past thing!
