Yahoo Buys Zimbra Collaboration Suite
Reports (and I believe its already official) have circulated that Yahoo has just purchased Zimbra. Zimbra of course is a groupware product created by Zimbra Inc. It is a web client and a full featured collaboration suite that supports email and group calendars using an Ajax web interface that enables tool tips, draggable items, and right-click menus in the UI.
The question now is, what will Yahoo do with it? Will they port it and use it on mobile devices? As companies are in competition to become the best of the best, moves are initiated to that direction. Companies such as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are slowly integrating mobile devices with the internet.
There will come a time when documents no longer exist, but hyperlinks on the internet. Soon, time will come when instead of sending your boss your reports, you'll just send him a text message with a link.
