Wyse Technology introduces new x90 and x90e notebooks
Wyse Technology has introduced two new thin computing notebook, the X90 and X90. These thin clients aren't like your traditional laptop. The Wyse X90 utilizes VMware(R) Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI), Citrix Application Delivery and Microsoft Windows Terminal Server data centers to display applications due to the lack of a hard drive. Without local storage, all file and applications will be better protected from data theft and viruses.
Sporting no hard drive or fan, both X90 and X90e thin client notebooks have no moving parts to enable silent operation with superior reliability. The X90 series is powered by a VIA C7-M ULV 1.2GHz and is running the latest version of Microsoft Windows XPe. Other key features and specs include a 12.1-inch LCD wide screen display, 3.88lb (with battery), 512MB flash memory, 512MB RAM, Ethernet connectivity, integrated Wi-Fi, and cellular connections. The X90E additionally features Bluetooth 2.0 and smart card support.
With shipments beginning in late September, introductory pricing of $599(X90) and $679 (X90e) will be offered until November.
