That’s the iPhone 3GS coverage for this year, we’ll bring you more specific details about the iPhone 3GS in the following days. What will you pick now? The Pre of the 3GS?
12:03PM PT: There’s a new ad for the 3GS which we will try to get as soon as possible and that concludes this WWDC. Those actually present in San Francisco will have lots of things to discover on their own during the WWDC sessions this week and the rest of us will only have to wait for the new iPhone to arrive in a store near us. And the new MacBooks for that matter.
11:59AM PT: The 16GB version will cost $199 while the 32GB version will cost $299. They will be available in black and white. The iPhone 3G price will drop to $99 which we kinda knew already. The iPhone 3G will cost $99 starting today while the 3GS will be available on June 19 in the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the UK and over 80 countries will receive the phone in July and August.
11:58AM PT: Battery-wise the 3GS will get you 9 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, 30 hours of audio, 12 hours of 2G talk and 5 hours of 3G talk.
11:54AM PT: Built-in compass is present in the 3GS, just in case you get lost in the city. Support for Nike+ is also included. Zooming, inverting audio, panning audio, instantaneous data wipe and encryption in iTunes is available too.
11:53AM PT: There’s voice control now. Call people from your contacts or dial a number. You can play songs and ask the iPhone what’s playing now.
11:51AM PT: You can share all those videos and pictures through email, MMS, YouTube or MobileMe. The APIs are available for developers to use in future applications.
11:48AM PT: The 3GS brings you a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recording VGA at 30 fps, 7.2Mbps HSDPA and OpenGL|ES.
11:47AM PT: Launch messaging is 2.1x faster, load SimCity is 2.4x faster, view Excel attachement 3.6x faster, load NY Times 2.9x faster.
11:46AM PT: The new iPhone 3GS, the name we mentioned earlier today, is here. S comes from Speed which means the 3GS is much faster than the 3G.
11:44AM PT: Phil Shiller is praising the iPhone again. 65% of all mobile browsing si done on an iPhone or iPod touch with the Android on second place with 9%.
11:41AM PT: It would be time for someone to actually unveil the new iPhone wouldn’t you say? The iPhone OS 3.0 will be available worldwide June 17, free for iPhone owners and $9.95 for iPod touch. All those paid developers in the developer program will get the GM Seed today. So the iPhone itself should arrive about now.
11:27AM PT: ngmoco:) is stepping up to present their game: Star Defense, a $5.99 tower defense game. PASCO will let you connect sensors to your iPhone to record various data. zipcar will help you rent cars. You get to check them out and make reservations. You can even unlock the car and press the horn from your app. Line6 will help you connect your guitar to your iPhone and play with some cool audio effects.
11:23AM PT: TomTom needs special attention. It’s going to bring you the first navigational turn-by-turn app in the app store. TomTom will even provide a handy car dock. It recharges the iPhone while you drive around. Pretty convenient.
11:14AM PT: Some developers are presenting their new apps. gameloft will keep launching games, Airstrop Technologies focuses on medical apps. Scroll Motion will bring digital books to the table: 1million books, 170 daily newspapers and 50 magazines. Watch out Amazon.
11:11AM PT: Hardware accessory developers can build various companion accessories. Google Maps will be available into any application like we expected.
11:09AM PT: The SDK comes with 1,000 new APIs ready for developers. There’s even In App Purchase which lets you renew subscriptions or buy game packs straight from the paid app. There’s peer to peer support.
11:05AM PT: Find my phone feature will help you localize your lost phone. The service will be available to MobileMe customers. In case people won’t return your phone then you have the option of remotely wiping the phone off. All you personal data will be conveniently deleted.
11:02AM PT: The new iPhone will offer you an increased performance: there’s HTTP streaming of audio and video files, HTML 5 support and auto-fill feature which remembers all the passwords and user names you want. iPhone 3.0 will have support for more than 30 languages too.
11:01AM PT: There’s talk about tethering but will the carriers support it? AT&T won’t support it at first but 22 carriers around the world will do that for you. There’s parental control so parents can limit what their kids do with the iPhone.
11:00AM PT: iTunes support: rent and purchase movies straight from the phone. You will be able to download over 3G TV shows, videos and audio books.
10:58AM PT: Spotlight support in iPhone 3.0 will let you search for anything in your iPhone including apps.
10:55AM PT: Over 100 new features are coming to the iPhone. Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo are all there for the taking. Landscape keyboard works in email, notes and messages. There’s even MMS support.Better late than never!
10:54AM PT: The iPhone 3.0 will be even better with push notifications and video streaming.

10:48AM PT: The iPhone is coming and Scott Forstall steps up to present it. The iPhone has more than 50,000 available apps in the store. 40,000,000 iPhone OS devices have been sold (iPhone and iPod touch) which is an outstanding number. 1,000,000,000 apps have been downloaded in only 9 months. Apple is building up momentum for the new iPhone.
10:47AM PT: Snow Leopard will cost $29 for Leopard users which is an amazing upgrade price. The family pack will cost you $49. All that available in September.
10:45AM PT: Exchange is done. On to more stuff hopefully.
10:43AM PT: While the Exchange support is being demoed we can’t help but wonder if the new iPhone is coming out today or not.
10:40AM PT: Exchange support is built-in Mail, iCal and Address book. It’s being demoed to the audience. You’re a password away from being integrated with Exchange.
10:39AM PT: On to graphics: about 1 teraflop power; using OpenGL.
10:35AM PT: The technology behind Snow Leopard is explained. Snow Leopard will run all apps in 64-bit. It will use multi-core chips and multi-thread programming with Grand Central dispatch.
10:33AM PT: Quicktime X comes up. Video editing is now possible straight from Quicktime.
10:31AM PT: Safari 4 comes up again. It’s fast and it will keep track of your most viewed webpages. You’ll get to check the full browsing history in Cover Flow.
10:28AM PT: On comes Craig Federighi, VP of Mac OS Engineering. He talks about a new magnifier, Dock Expose related features. All to be discovered soon in your new Macs.
10:26AM PT: Quicktime 10 has a modern foundation, supports hardware acceleration, ColorSync and HTTP streaming.
10:24AM PT: Safari 4 is faster up to 7.8 times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and it scores 100/100 on Acid3 test compared to 21/100 for IE8.
10:19AM PT: The Snow Leopard will bring Refinements, Technologies and Exchange. We’re looking at dock tweaks and tricks. The installation process is 45% faster, not that it matters. After installation you will get an additional 6GB of space on your hard drive. Opening JPEG files is now 2 times faster while PDF files open 1.5 times faster. And the Snow Leopard Mail performance has increased significantly.
10:17AM PT: The OS X Snow Leopard is the great software this great hardware needs. While that is cool and what not we’re still waiting for the iPhone. Apple is making a little fun of Windows 7, which they say it’s basically the same thing as Vista.
10:15AM PT: This is the most affordable Mac line ever. The Air starts at $1,499 and the 256GB SSD version will cost you $1,799, $700 cheaper than before. The Mac line looks better than ever.
10:12AM PT: The 13-inch gets the same update. 7-hour battery, non-removable, an SD slot, a new display, up to 8GB of memory, a 500GB HDD or 256 GB SSD, Firewire 800. All that for $1,199 which is a great price for the new 13-inch laptop.
10:10AM PT: $1699 for the entry level 15-inch MacBook Pro. The 17-inch laptop drops to $2499.
10:08AM PT: New display able to offer 60% more color gamut. An SD slot has been added so you can get your pictures faster. Up to 3.06 GHz Dual Core 6MB Level 2 Caceh processor. Up to 8GB of memory. A 500 GB HDD or a 256 GB SSD.
10:06AM PT: First up are the MacBooks. The 15-inch MacBook Pro has gotten a new battery. Non-removable like the 17-inch version, this battery will get you about 7 hours of energy and it will last for about 1,000 charges or 5 years.
10:04AM PT: Phil Shiller is leading the show. There’s no Steve Jobs. 5,200 developers from 54 countries around the world are present in San Francisco.
