Not that we necessarily care to worry about Windows 7 right now, but we might as well peak into the inevitable future. The video above is quite old but still funny. It’s a banned commercial which showed us yet again the fatality that awaits any Windows user, the blue screen of death.
Getting back to Windows 7 here, and hoping that it won’t bring us any future blue screens of death, we found out that the new Microsoft OS is faster than Vista or XP.
Tested on an Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 3.16GHz, with 4GB of RAM the three Windows versions pulled of the following numbers:
So it looks like Windows 7 is faster than Vista and XP. Oddly enough, I am looking forward to checking Windows 7 myself.

My XP boots in like 45 seconds, Windows 7 takes about 60 seconds, and Ubuntu 8.10 takes like 2 minutes on my 1.8GHz AMD Sempron Single Core.

Listen very carefully…if you remove all the unwanted application running on Windows XP Pro & remove the unwanted services running you will be able to boot with it 25 sec flat and I am running alot of programs on startup.
The best thing is that I am having a basic machine. Click Start - Run - type (MSCONFIG) this will enter you in Microsoft configurations. Here you can set your performance with ease. Enjoy…
these people are fooling non- tech people ….
vista and windows 7 r not faster than win xp ……….
but its processing is little bit faster as comparision to vista.
i think they are brand ambessdor for windows 7
he he he ……..

After months of trying out Windows 7, found out that games run faster on XP.
WOW ONE SEC FASTER THAN VISTA MUCH RUSH OUT AND WASTE 200 BUCKS!
I too find xp boots faster (24 secs after tweeking) and processes video and audio better using third party programs.
Can’t get windows 7 boot times under 30 secs, even vista boots in about 29 secs with tweeking on my system.
I do like the new features in windows 7 though, but not a reason to buy for me.
umm sorry, im allergic to bull ****

interesting article… are you high man?
I hate Vista, though have yet to have a single problem with is minus a driver issue with a printer(not a big deal as I got a newer printer) I then upgraded to 7 as part of Toshiba’s agreement to upgrade for free and I’m very pleased with the system. I’m running a 2.8ghz core 2 duo with 6gb ddr3 ram and 7 boots up in about 20 seconds. My earlier desktop with a Pentium 4 2.0ghz and 512mb ram boots up xp in about 30 seconds on a slow day, all systems are running with optimal settings and I have very few, if any programs opening when windows starts. That’s the key to it starting up so fast. But from Window 7 or Vista, compared to even XP, I haven’t had even 1/100 the problems on these systems. And as far as dell goes with their “upgrade” to XP for $50, you’re better off buying vista and upgrading it to 7, or just getting 7. Michael Dell and his company don’t know what they’re doing anyway, I’d know, I worked for Dell for almost 2 years, until 7000US employees with Dell were laid off so they could outsource and hire 5 people for the same cost as 1 American. Dell can go suck itself!
