What About the iPhone 3G Users Who Want Video Cameras?

And so, the Apple iPhone 3GS has finally been released. Apparently, there have been already 1 million phones sold over the weekend. But now let us backtrack a bit. What about the people with iPhone 3G who simply want a video camera for their phones? What happens to them?

Apparently, this is an issue concerning iVidCam which has failed to get by Apple for months now. Video camera options on the new iPhone is apparent but why block an app for the older models? Is this a marketing strategy to make sure that people buy the new iPhone?

Well, whatever the reason is, you can bet that Apple has a reason for it. But while they are blocking it, one voice is trying to convince Apple to this day:

“Unlike other video camera apps that are being sold to jailbroken iPhones that hacks into the iPhone’s system illegally to take video, our app, iVidCam, uses only technologies that are in numerous other apps already in the AppStore, so we are confident that Apple will allow the sale of our app,” says Susan Lee of GP Apps.

Will Apple bite? Give the new iPhone 3GS some time to settle down. Then perhaps they can review this app once again.
