Between all cell phone and carrier news, between laptops and highly portable desktops we manage to squeeze in a few hard drive news once in a while. With all this talk about SSD which become bigger and bigger while prices are slowly dropping, Western Digital aren’t going to give up their way of producing quality HDD.

In fact they are trying to offer faster spinning hard drives. How does 20,000RPM sound like? Will they match current SSD speeds? This concept shows us a 2.5 inch HDD spinning at 20,000RPM in a 3.5 inch case which is meant to reduce any movement and sounds the hard disk will produce.

I’ll be waiting to actually see one in action!
