Weather Channel app for Android available by scanning your TV screen

02-03-10weratherchannelIf you were watching the Weather Channel the other day, you may have noticed an odd black and white pattern that read “Android Users Scan Here”.

The would be a QR code, and this would be an augmented reality app that could be scanned by an Android powered phone If you happened to have one, and followed its instruction, then your phone would go to the Android market for you to buy the Weather Channel’s app.

All in all, not a bad way to advertise. I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see more things advertised in such a manner.
