WAPI iPhones Coming to ChinaBy Brian - 01/29/2010 2:00:55 PM |
Chinese-based iPhones are practically the same with the authentic Apple iPhone only that they don’t have WiFi capability. However Foxconn may change all that soon when they release their new WAPI phones (WAPI is Chinese for WiFI) which they have codenamed N88.
Curiously, there is also a phone that has a codename of N90. While it is not confirmed, there is a possibility that this could be the much awaited iPhone 4G. Just like China Unicom which sold over 200,000 iPhones without WiFi, the demand for the WAPI-enabled iPhones are expected to soar if not surpass those figures.
