VoiceSignal Provides Embedded Speech Recognition for Voice Activated Dialing on the BlackBerry 8800

Embedded in the new Blackberry 8800 smartphone from Research in Motion is one the the best speech/voice dialing applications via VoiceSignal’s VSuite application. The software will operate straight out of the box, requiring no training. The dialing application integrates with the 8800’s address book allowing users to call specific contacts with just a single voice command. With just the push of a button, users can also launch the VSuite application from a Bluetooth wireless headset to make calls.

The software not only provides hands-free voice dialing, it also uses some unique calling features including, smart dialing of company extensions, Identical name handling, and automatic updates of address book. For extension calls the BlackBerry 8800 will dial the main number, pause momentarily upon connection, and then dial the extension number by simply speaking the words "call extension" followed by the extension number. New contacts added to the address book from the handset or even some contact management software are available for voice activated dialing. Also, If there are contacts with the same name, the users will be prompted with the contacts company and choose which person to contact.
