High-end cell phone manufacturer Vertu recently announced three new editions to its Ferrari collection of mobile phones. “Reflecting the exclusivity, elegance and performance of the best supercars, the Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari Nero” The 2009 limited edition handset is covered in black leather. The other two phones being launched – the Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari Rosso and the Giallo–will be crafted in vibrant red and yellow.
The battery cover mirrors the distinctive bonnet detailing and on the handsets, the sides of the Ascent Ti are sculpted to reflect the louvers, found on various Ferrari cars. The limited edition collection will also feature sounds that were recorded from the engine of a Ferrari F430 and a 612 Scaglietti. The current line of Vertu Ferrari phones have an entry level retail price of just under $300 but can cost thousands depending on the features and the materials used.
