Vertu Ascent Ti 3G Cell Phone Gets FCC Approved

Ooh, look what was found beaming with the great seal of the FCC approval: the Vertu Ascent Ti phone. This GSM quad-band phone is also compatable with 3G/UMTS networks.

The phone offers a joystick for navigating menus on the phone. Don't let the stylish exterior fool you: the Ascent Ti has some great features integrated as well. As is standard in most phones with a joystick, you can customize the shortcuts that open up when it is moved to a particular direction.

The gallery app on the phone lets you access media, tones and themes for the phone. Useful applications include a to-do list, calendar and stopwatch. You can set AAC/MP3/MIDI files as ring tones. There's also Bluetooth.

A neat 3-megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom is also available on the Vertu Ascent Ti - great for photos as well as videos (saved in 3GP format). The WorldMate application displays currency conversion, time, weather and real-time flight information for the traveling professional.

No word on the pricing yet, but we should have it soon.
