Verizon’s Escapade global handsetBy Jeff Baker - 08/20/2009 6:38:49 PM |

Verizon has today announced that their Escapade handset is set to launch both in-store and online tomorrow for $29.99 on contract.
As you can see, this device doesn’t have a touchscreen, it doesn’t have a full QWERTY keyboard and it doesn’t even have EV-DO, UMTS or EDGE data capabilities However, it does offer voice and text support for over “220 destinations worldwide” and that’s what Verizon is focusing on.
Other features include a 2MP camera, Bluetooth, voice commands and VZ Navigator. If you’re looking for a cheap handset that you can travel with, this may be it.
