The iPhone isn’t officially arriving to Verizon but I guess we were all expecting that. AT&T is the exclusive carrier and that won’t change in the near future. Verizon is also saying that Apple wasn’t going to work with Verizon anyway. At least not until Verizon will release its 4G LTE network in 2011.
Here’s what the Wall Street Journal says:

He said Apple never seriously considered making a CDMA version of the iPhone because it didn’t have as wide a distribution opportunity.

[...] Verizon Wireless has a new cheap phone ready for you, but you were already knew it was coming. The Samsung Smooth U350 is available now and it will cost $29.99 with a 2-year contract, $99.99 with a 1-year agreement and just $199.99 with no contract. [...]
Heres an Idea…..We all hold the power to Verizon and to the iphone. How about dropping both of them temporarily. When your contract expires with AT&T, go with a non AT&T pre paid phone. When you contract ends with Verizon, go with a non Verizon pre paid phone. If we all quit putting money in their pockets they will come together and give us what we all want. Within 6 months I bet we would see a Verizon iphone.
