Verizon Wireless removes Google and Wikipedia search tool

A couple of days ago Verizon Wireless removed the Google and Wikipedia search tool that existed on all their BlackBerry models. Their official search tool is now powered by Microsoft and is also known as Bing.

According to a Verizon spokesperson, if users want Google or Wikipedia, they can easily surf the web or visit the BlackBerry Appworld and download the application (for free). As you can imagine this is a big step for Bing which is still trying to gain a considerable share in the search engine market, but I don’t know if it is enough to beat the big giant Google and their small brother wikipedia.
