Here’s a piece of news I was waiting for quite a while to deliver. The BlackBerry Thunder, or as some like to refer to as the Storm, has been confirmed by Verizon Wireless. Like we have told you this past weekend, today was the day all of this was going to happen.
The Storm will be a quadband handset; it will sport a haptic touchscreen, a full HTML browser, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a high resolution screen. What’s more to ask? Decent GPS and WiFi. Unfortunately there’s no WiFi in the Storm. We could let this one slide for now although it’s not understandable.
Pricing and availability dates will follow by November when people will actually be able to get the handset.

LOVE THE LOOK WHATS THE PRICE
My VZW source is telling me that there will be an October 13th “launch”, which probably means that they’ll start to take orders mid-October and have inventory in November to ship if not earlier.
Hell, if this device can actually complete a successful call it will already have ‘one-up’ on the iPhone and may win some converts.
Everyone I know with a 3G iPhone is complaining about incomplete/fast busys and dropped calls. Whether you blame AT&T or Apple, it’s still absurd that in this day and age customers still have to deal with incomplete and dropped calls.

Verizon flunks again.. This poor answer to the Iphone falls short by failing to include WiFi. Its so blatantly obvious that verizon wants its subscribers to pay extra for every single feature.. including email. They are herding their users into a pen of fees and high data plans,.. everything from Vcast to ringtones and now even email. Verizon will soon be the “What not to do” business model for every other cellular carrier.
The new storm release with be just another reason for subscribers to switch over to the more inferior cellular provider ATT.. who cares If you can hear me now… I can just email you on my wifi!
who cares about WiFi anymore? Get a laptop if you want WiFi. Why would you need WiFi if you have 3G? More and more devices are losing WiFi becaue it is not something people really want or need on a handheld. RIM was smart to exclude WiFi. You know they thought it out first. Bravo for not making a boat anchor out of what looks to be an amazing device.
