V7 Standard PS/2 Mouse–Exactly What You’d Expect

By Steve Anderson - 12/18/2009 3:39:17 AM

There’s only three more models to discuss in the V7 lineup, and today we’re tackling quite possibly the simplest of all mouse models, the V7 Standard PS/2 Mouse.

This is, however, one of the rarer models of mouse as it comes with a PS/2 connection rather than a USB connection.  In an era when most people have all but given up on serial ports and parallel ports and PS/2 ports as being so horribly out of date alongside the USB port, it’s actually good to see this old throwback still getting a little action.

Aside from that port anomaly, it’s a basic, standard, plain-vanilla sort of mouse that has two buttons and a scroll wheel.  Ops-standard on virtually every front, and it will not disappoint in terms of quality.  In other, simpler terms, it works just fine.

So if you’d like to save one of those valuable USB ports for your printer or your drink warmer or your desk lamp or any of a hundred other functions, let your mouse take over the PS/2 port it was intended to, and let V7′s mouse be your mouse of choice.

Score: 6/10

The Good

Can be used on a PS/2 port

Solid functionality

The Bad

Absolutely no extra features beside a scroll wheel
