Currently the HTC Hero Android smartphone is available in the U.S. only from Sprint. But we have some good news for you today. An unlocked GSM version of the HTC Hero is now available online from Negri Electronics and it looks like it comes with support for AT&T’s 3G network.

The website has both the black and white versions of the HTC Hero but you’ll have to pay $585.50 and $579.59, respectively. So where do these unlocked GSM HTC Hero phones come from? Is it Canada by any chance? The Hero is available there from Telus and thus it would explain the support for those 850/1900 3G bands that also happen to be used by AT&T in the U.S.
