I’ve heard that there may be a great convergence, where we would purchase a movie, and be able to watch it from any platform like our television, mobile phone, or PMP.

This could happen if Ultraviolet has their way. Right now, Ultraviolet has several members like NBC Universal, for example. However, I don’t think that Apple and iTunes will play nice with it. Especially with the Hulu iPad service and Hulu Plus.
