TweetPhoto iPhone App Rejected!By Brian - 08/24/2009 10:04:12 AM |
Let it be known that when it comes to originality and uniqueness, iPhone app developers better be careful. It seems that a slight resemblance can change the fortunes for iPhone apps awaiting approval and such is the plight that the TweetPhoto iPhone app encountered when Apple rejected the said app.
The trouble started due to a slight resemblance. The TweetPhoto had a slight resemblance to Polaroid photographs. Polaroid photographs has made it known that they are objecting to other applications that highlight similar features to theirs since it infringes their rights.
The decision could have been easier to accept if now for some inconsistencies. For one, there is another app that is closely similar to the case of TweetPhoto yet it was approved by Apple. Add to the fact that the resemblance was only “mild” and yet they got the axe.
There are inconsistencies indeed and it looks like Apple still has the final say. Such is the plight an Apple app developer has to go through and unfortunately, the TweetPhoto app for the iPhone is the latest casualty. Do we see an appeal coming soon?
