29 Jul 09 Toshiba Unveils External Storage Devices
Toshiba is not usually a brand you would associate with hard disk drives but it looks like they will have their first crack with the launch of external storage solutions. Toshiba launches new 3.5 HDDs for desktops which will come in 640GB and 1TB of storage. They can be connected with the usual USB interface and eSata.
Both drives will come with a software where users can easily backup their files. The 640GB HDD will cost around $129.99 while the 1TB costs $159.99. They are compatible with Windows and MAC computers.

Toshiba is here with external-HDD long time. I would say since you have think about external drives. I have my first external drive when I bought 2,5inch HDD and separate chasing for it. The HDD was TOSHIBA and as well there is range of diferent externals HDD find on homepage thoshiba.com
P.S.: SATA conection is nice and fast but very litle number of PC or laptops(notebooks) comes with external plug in conector
for SATA
