TomTom RIDER 2 Europe Edition
TomTom unveiled its new TomTom RIDER 2 which promises to be the adrenaline pumping bikers new best friend. The RIDER has been designed keeping in mind the bikers hence it is both rugged and waterproof. Mounting is not a problem as the device is compatible with almost all bikes and comes bundled with a RAM mounting hardware.
The RIDER 2 comes equipped with an intuitive touch-screen which can be handled even when wearing gloves. It contains a GPS receiver with 20 Channel all-in-view tracking and a 380 MHz CPU. The 3.5 inch touch-screen has a 320 x 240 TFT resolution and one can easily view the traditional 2D map-format graphics and 3D bird's-eye view.
The GPS device measures 113,2mm x 96,2mm x 52,9mm and comes bundled with a new Cardo scala-rider™ Bluetooth® headset for in-helmet spoken instructions. One also comes across a USB port and a SD Card slot, which makes the RIDER a complete multimedia device. Users will be happy to now that all the newest NAVTEQ maps are installed on a 1 Gb SD card as one seamless map which cover most of western Europe.The TomTom RIDER Europe 2nd edition will be available from May 2007 however no word on pricing.
