A new version of the Amazon Kindle is said to be coming out in August, a thinner e-reader with better contrast and faster page turns. However it will not be touch screen and colored, two factors which may not necessarily get the attention of techies who have seen the same technology from the Apple iPad.

For now, perhaps this is what Amazon has to offer. But in the near future, you can bet that these two critical features will be integrated into the Amazon Kindle. Either that or they can simply find themselves being at the tail-end of the e-reader segment.
