The TSA Wants You to Buy New Laptop Bags

The Transportation Security Administration or the TSA, is going to enforce a new rule for laptop bags starting with today, August the 16th. Check out the picture above to see what I am talking about.

I know I prefer a backpack to carry my laptop when traveling. Some of you might also prefer the accordion style bag. We’re not going to be able to use them when flying in the USA.

Airport security is going to be tighter and tighter. In order to make the check-in process faster, the TSA is going to introduce this rule about laptop bags. The suggested design above will make X-ray screening faster. That means you won’t have to take the laptop out of the bag like you normally do when passing through security check points.

It is said that 60 manufacturers had a positive response and 40 of them have submitted prototypes for testing. Does that mean you have to get another laptop bag while traveling through the USA? Well you do need one if you want officers to leave your laptop inside the bag you do. Otherwise keep using your old backpack.
