The Pre Costs Less than the iPhone or the Bold to MakeBy Chris - 04/29/2009 9:51:57 PM |

What will the Pre cost is something lots of people ask these days. While we don’t have the exact answer to that question, we can easily assume it’s going to cost less than the iPhone or even the BlackBerry Bold. From what we hear the manufacturing costs for the Pre are lower than for the iPhone or the Bold. iSuppli states that the total manufacturing cost of a Palm Pre is just around $138. That’s the hardware cost only, without all the research and development costs. From the same point of view the iPhone costs $174 and the Bold $169.
According to iSuppli Sprint will pay $300 for the Palm Pre and Sprint’s customers will pay around $200 for the device with a $100 rebate on a new contract.
