In case you are tired of using your brand new MacBook Air the way it’s meant to be used, here’s an additional extra. Not only is the Air a very slim but very powerful Apple computer, but it’s also a great kitchen appliance, a heavy duty knife. A very expensive knife that is, but it will do the job.

No matter if it’s turned on or not, you can always use it to cut perfect slices of birthday cake for your friends. That’s what Rahul Sood, founder of VooDoo PC and CTO of HP’s global gaming business just did. Heresy you say? Too much alcohol? Pure envy?

My friend over at Phonetag, James Siminoff, thought it would be funny to hand over a Macbook Air as a “gift” after I blew out the candle on a birthday cake. I immediately used it to cut the cake, it’s so damn sharp it did a fine job. People thought it was funny enough to blog. So before this thing spreads, I thought I’d explain myself: It was a combination of wine and a hand rolled cigar that did this.

Ahh well, I won’t needing this notebook for long

I guess it would be only fair for HP to invent their own ultra-slim laptop which Steve Jobs could also use successfully in the kitchen.
