The LED Hourglass

Here’s another thing the world doesn’t really need, but, as we’ve learned before, this isn’t going to stop anyone from buying it. This hourglass lantern, designed by Young-Bok Kim works just like any other hourglass, except in doesn’t have any sand in it, but a lot of LEDs. And you can even adjust how long it takes for the light “to flow” from top to bottom. And guess what the effect is? Well, in time the luminance decreases at the top as it increases at the bottom. Nice special effect though!

In case you are interested in this hourglass, I must sadly inform you that it is still a concept and hasn’t been released on the market yet.
