The Apple iPhone 3G is Here, At LastBy Sandeep - 06/09/2008 3:15:32 PM |
The Apple iPhone 3G version is here! Well, not that it comes as a big surprise, but it does deliver on all the promised goodies including a built-in GPS, iPhone 2.0 software that supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and the ability to run third-party applications built using the iPhone SDK.
Available starting July 11, the iPhone 3G will hit as many as 22 countries – including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Steve-O is offering the twice-as-fast iPhone at half the price. Being an early adopter myself, I should see if I can swap the one I have with the 3G version.
The phone comes with iPhone 2.- software, including calendar sync and support for Cisco IPsec VPN for secure access to your company’s corporate network. With 5 hours of talktime on a 3G network (up to 6 hours of web browsing), the iPhone can go on for 7 hours when playing back video. (Don’t ask me the numbers when playing videos on the web).
The pricing is attractive too: US $199 for the 8GB model, and $299 for the 16GB model.
