Text books coming to ebook readers

I’m all for becoming educated but one of my biggest gripes about college are the astronomical prices we are forced to pay for text books. Luckily, with the forthcoming release of the iPad, and other ebook readers already on the market, that problem may soon be remedied.

According to our sources, major text book publishers such as McGraw-Hill, Kaplan, Pearson, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt K-12 have signed on with ScrollMotion Inc. to digitize all of their offerings.  This of course will prepare said offerings for digital distribution through various devices such as Apple’s recently released iPad.

Of course, chances are the prices of these text books won’t come down too much but the idea of being able to slip a Kindle DX or iPad into my backpack instead of a bunch of heavy books is something I’m looking forward to.
