Motorola Z8m Comes to Town

motorola-z8m_thumb.jpg

I am not a huge fan of slider phones, but I have to admit I took more than 5 minutes to check the new 3G Motorola Z8m out. This slider is a little bit special than its competition in terms of design. It’s meant to adjust to the shape of your face. I don’t know if this feature will really influence the quality of our phone calls but it certainly is really innovative at least. The Z8m is the third Z8 version and will be launched in Korea. The starting price is somewhere around $500.

This is what the new edition of Motorola Z8 has to offer: the upgraded HSDPA - from 3.2 to 7.2Mbps, the regular QVGA 2.2 inch display and the 2 megapixel camera. There’s of course the one touch MP3 player, the Bluetooth and USB 2.0 for data transfers and integrated and very useful GPS systems. As for space you have an 80MB internal memory available to start from and as you go along getting more pictures and music, the micro SD option that lets you store up to 4GB of data.

What could you possible want more from Motorola? A drop in price maybe.

  • RoadSync from DataViz

DataViz, an Office compatibility solutions provider, announced RoadSync, a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync client for Motorola’s Symbian UIQ based MOTO Z8 mobile phone. RoadSync is apparently the first and only Z8 solution offering a secure, direct push sync of email, calendar, contacts and attachments to Exchange Server 2003 and 2007. The UIQ platform hasn’t been as much in the news as the S60, but some neat apps keep trickling in once in a while.

What’s more, DataViz is also offering Documents To Go for free (view-only edition) to all Moto Z8 customers. This allows you to view Word, Excel and PowerPoint files right on your Z8. All you need to do is register at DataViz and download a free copy.

RoadSync for Moto Z8 carries a price tag of US $49.99 per user when purchased in volume license options for five or more users. Available right now online as well as through distributors worldwide. A free eval copy is also available.
