In case you’re waiting for Sony Ericsson to offer you a Windows Mobile 6.5 update for your Xperia X1 then you’d be better off actually buying a new Windows Mobile 6.5 phone. Sony Ericsson will not officially support Windows Mobile 6.5 on the Xperia X1. Sure you can find a way of installing Microsoft’s latest mobile OS but that doesn’t mean Sony Ericsson will help you through the process.
I don’t think that this strategy will work in favor of Sony Ericsson. In fact some people will choose to ditch the Xperia X1 and get a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone from the competition. What do you say folks?

Better late than never right? That seems to be Rogers‘ policy concerning the Xperia X1. While Sony Ericsson is getting ready to launch the X2 at some point in the future, Rogers is only ready to sell the first version of the phone.
The phone will cost $249.99 with a 3-year contract and at this point in time it wouldn’t be that wise to get one. You’d be better of getting some of the new phones available or simply wait for the Xperia X2 to be launched. What say you, Xperia X1 phone fans?

After two photo sessions with the Xperia X2 it’s time to show you some specs of it. Unfortunatelly these features aren’t confirmed yet but they would very well fit with the pictures. So here they are:
The X2 seems a lot better than the X1, at least from where we’re looking. That Windows Mobile 6.5 OS we were talking about yesterday is there and it looks like the X2 will be upgradeable to Windows Mobile 7. We’ll be looking forward for Sony Ericsson to officially mention the X2.

I wish I got my hands on the new Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. The things I would do to it… In the mean time others have touched it and played with it and that’s simply not fair. The X1 is coming sometime in the second part of 2008 with no specific details yet on pricing or interested carriers.

It’s funny how companies try to keep new products under wraps, and sometimes the most innocent of things reveals them. This time, it’s the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 device, a Windows Mobile phone slated for a September 2008 release. That may seem far away, but for those eagerly waiting for the device - you know it’s worth it.
The news was leaked thanks to Handango’s newsletter. The Xperia X1, which will come with Handango’s InHand service built-in, features a WVGA resolution screen (800×480 pixels). Obviously, the phone will be available in multiple languages.

Surprise! Surprise! Meet the first ever Windows Mobile-powered Sony Ericsson. Already a leader in Symbian UIQ devices, it looks like SE wants the best of both worlds by adding the Xperia XP1, which works on Windows Mobile 6. Making its debut at the Mobile World Congress, the phone isn’t shabby at all with a 3-inch VGA (yep, not QVGA!) touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 , a full QWERTY keypad, and a new tile-like interface called “Xperia Panels.” Sony Ericsson has tried to cover all the bases with quad-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA network support (900 or 850 and 1700/1900/2100 MHz), WiFi, aGPS, Bluetooth with A2DP, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The arc-sliding QWERTY looks really cool and there is a 4-way navigation key and an optical joystick to complement the touchscreen.
With all these features, the Sony Ericsson Xperia XP1 will definitely not be cheap when it hits the stores in the second half of 2008. More pictures and details after the break.
