Verizon Hub VoIP Phone

For the wise spender, everyone knows that you can save a lot if you use the web as an alternative means of communication.

A good device to use especially if you happen to be far from home is the Verizon Hub VoIP phone. It is a great alternative concept in communicating when you find yourself away from home.

Verizon has a new Hub to cater to such a crowd, being an intuitive device that puts a communications command center in the home while merging both wireline and wireless connectivity.

In order to get started with the Verizon Hub, you will need a 911 service, a home broadband connection, a wireless router and Verizon Wireless’ service. The Verizon Hub will retail for $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year agreement, while additional cordless handsets will retail for $79.99 a pop.

  • The Huawei D100 router is a WiFi rooter with a twist. It’s way different than your average rooter. Instead of plugging your landline broadband connection into it, you will insert a 3G USB dongle into the top USB slot. After that the D100 shares the 3G broadband with any device no matter where you might be. Well don’t get that far from the router either!

It’s the best solution if you travel a lot. Just take the 3G modem3 with you! Another good news is that it works with both PC and Mac so you won’t have any problems setting it up/ Unfortunately it seems to be compatible only with Huawei USB modems.

You can buy it for $140, for the moment but only in the UK! I guess it’s worth the trip if you didn’t have to opt in for a 3 mobile broadband plan too!

3, not a number, but one of UK’s largest mobile operators is set to release its very own wireless router, the D100 from Huawei. The company claimed that this router enables up to four people to share mobile broadband connection. The idea behind this is that you slot your 3G USB modem into the wireless router made by Huawei and others can access the Net via a Wi-fi link. The device will only work with a USB modem supplied also by 3.

Some people would like to disagree the need for such a device as its easy to share a mobile broadband connection just by turning your PC, Mac, or laptop into a wireless access point through software.

According to the official 3 UK online store the D100 is available in black or while and costs £69.99 as a one-off cost. The store also list which USB modems you can use with it.
