LG “Baking” New Phones

This is perhaps the best way to sum up the new batch of mobile phones that LG Electronics has in store for all the mobile phone addicts. According to the LG 2010 Q1 roadmap, the company is set to unveil phones that come with names somewhat similar to their celebrated LG Chocolate. Among the new phones set to be released include:

  • LG Wine2
  • LG Wine Junior
  • LG Stage
  • LG Mini
  • LG Goya
  • LG Sweet
  • LG Cookie2
  • LG GX200

Some may be sequels such as the LG Wine2, LG Wine Junior, LG Sweet and the LG Cookie2 which may showcase a new design or better camera. The LG Stage looks like it will pick up from the LG Arena. The rest seem to be new phones to be set out in the market, referring to the LG Goya and LG Mini. Finally, the LG GX200 is a 2 SIM card handybar which may be simple and cheap for the mobile market.

Hopefully we can get more features in the coming months.

  • LG KH4500 Cell Phone

LG has yet again renamed its popular clamshell, the LG Wine as the KH4500 for its debut in Korea. The KH4500 is already available in the European market and Canada as the KF300 and NTT DoCoMo has released it in Japan as the FOMA L706ie in July 2008. For Korea, KTF will be the lucky carrier who will start selling this device starting today, October 16. Although the names are different, the feature set has remained constant and the KH4500 is no different from any other Wine versions that have been released already.

The LG KH4500 has a big 2.4-inch 262k QVGA display molded into its flip form factor and along with a host of other features fit for a mid-range clamshell, barring the HSDPA support. It is designed to work with both W-CDMA and GSM systems with full support for video calling at HSDPA speeds and also has a terrestrial TV tuner, a 1.3 megapixel camera with autofocus.

The LG KH4500 is available starting today with an undisclosed price tag.

  • One of the first times we mentioned the LG Wine was to talk about its South Korean debut, and that happened like 6 months ago, in April. Another recent mention was made 3 months ago, on July, when the Wine was presented in Europe and Japan.

As you can see, the worldwide expansion of this simple cellphone is pretty good, and to prove that point Canada has joined the list by offering the LG Wine threw an exclusive deal with Bell Mobility.

About the phone itself, what can we say… it is basic but works like a charm. It features a 2.2-inch display, 1.3-megapixel camera, bluetooth, and the special detail – being compatible with GPS navigation.

The LG Wine is available in 2 colors – black and gold – for $80 with a 3-year contract.

    Adel Bazerghi from Bell, comments:

Not only does the LG WINE dazzle with its sophisticated appearance, but it also sets the standards for ergonomics and ease of use. The LG Wine is more than just a phone. It’s a statement about your lifestyle.
