All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

The last time we mentioned the iTG xpPhone was a about one month ago and at that time it didn’t have a clear & good image, nor any specific details.

But today the Chinese company that is creating the phone has release more information, such as the processor which will be an ADM “Super Mobile” and the memory RAM that can either have 512MB or 1GB. As for the storage options, you can pick a 8GB SolidStateDrive, or a normal 120GB HDD.

At this moment there is information about its price or release date, but according to previous statements the iTG xpPhone will be (when it gets released) the first cellphone running Windows XP as the operative system.

You might have heard of a little thing called Chrome OS which is going to be Google’s own operating system for future nebtooks. Unfortunately the new OS is not available yet and we’ll have to wait until mid-2010 to see it in action. That will not stop Acer from unveiling a Google-power netbook before the year’s end. The dual-boot machine should be available just in time for Christmas. That means you’ll be able to send greeting cards either from an Android or Windows XP interface but we’ll totally understand if you decide to ignore that old XP for a while. We don’t have pricing details and exact arrival dates at this time but it’s just the beginning of October. There’s plenty of time for Acer to announce Aspire One’s brother.

  • It’s been a while since we heard of ITG’s xpPhone in fact, the last we heard of it was back at Computex. Well, the device seems to have graduated from the drawing board and is now dangerously close to hitting Vodafone, Orange and AT&T.

As you can see, the device packs quite a punch with its 4.8-inch touchscreen display, video conferencing and 3G compatibility. One major thing to make note of is the fact that its primary operating system is Microsoft’s beloved Windows XP.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) ITG has yet to mention a price so when you actually go to pre-order the xpPhone, you won’t have to pay anything.

The Kanguru e-Flash also comes with preloaded with HotSwap software for easier connection and ejections of the device together with a high-strength aluminum housing that assures owners of engraved and secure caps for added protection as far as the drive and internal data is concerned.

MSI will be unveiling a new netbook soon and it is called the MSI Wind U150 Notebook. What makes it so special? The new MSI Wind U150 netbook will make use of touchscreen technology as well as the new Pine Trail Atom platform. The new MSI netbook is expected to be unveiled at the CES.

MSI is hoping to be the first company to land the Pine Trail Atom since Intel has not officially launched the latest Atom processor in the market. The Pine Trail Atom seems to be one of the marquee features of this latest MSI Wind netbook since it reportedly shows improved graphic performance and improved power consumption.

And the other marquee feature is the touchscreen, 10-inch convertible U150 with Windows 7. But before all that happens, MSI will be unveiling the 12” Wind U210 which makes use of the AMD platform. It will be available in two variants: one with Windows XP, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive retailing for about $379 and another running on Vista Premium for $429.

The U210 will be available in the U.S. this coming September.

I know a guy that would install Windows 95 on any computer he’d ever use. In his world, that’s the best OS available. Not that I have anything against Windows 95 but that OS should better rest in peace. And it shouldn’t be in any case installed on an iPhone!

The iPhone 3G above has been jail-broken and someone installed Windows 95 on it. Just to prove that you definitely shouldn’t run Win 95 on your iPhone you should know that boot time alone takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Imagine trying to make things run on such a phone. But don’t let me bore you to death with simple words when the video above has all the hot stuff.

Coming up next is running Windows XP on the iPhone 3GS. We’ll be waiting for this gruesome combo too!

Just like its overseas brethren, the US Vaio W will be running Windows XP and feature a 1.6GHz Atom Processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, Bluetooth, Ethernet, 2 USB ports and an SD card reader. Futhermore, buyers can opt for either a 3-cell battery rated for around 3 hours or the beefier 6 cell battery.

Unfortunately, there was no word of an SSD option, for those of you who like a bit quicker data access.

Is it a netbook? Is it a laptop? No! It’s Dell’s Inspiron Mini 12.

Previously the Inspiron Mini 12 was a Vista only machine but thanks to a recent update from Dell, that is no longer the case. You can now order the Inspiron Mini 12 with either Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP, a sigh of relief for those looking to order the device.

Starting at just $499, the Ubuntu Linux version of the Mini 12 is the cheapest, with the Windows XP version starting at $549. Of course, with all the added do-dads and what not, you’re sure to be paying above those prices.

  • Windows XP was supposed to be officially discontinued starting with January 31, 2009. According to a leaked email from a PC OEM, Microsoft has decided to postpone the XP retirement. The new rumored date is July 31, 2009. That gives us a whole six extra months to buy XP instead of Vista. After that you will probably be more likely to choose the future Windows 7 instead of Vista. That’s a nice trick Microsoft is pulling. Especially since they are working hard on promoting Vista.
