Lenovo has today announced that they have put their IdeaCenter Q110, pictured above, up for sale. This nettop is powered by NVIDIA’s Ion platform and features either Windows 7 (when it comes out)or Vista, 2GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive for $399.

Of course, if you opt for Windows Vista you will be given a free upgrade disc when Windows 7 is made available so there is no need to wait until the operating system’s release date.

  • Steve Ballmer has been known to make some rather colorful comments on everything from the iPhone to the Xbox 360’s Project Natal. This time however, Ballmer has kept his cool giving some comments on Google’s recently announced Chrome OS.

When question about the operating system Ballmer was quoted to have said, “I will be respectful, who knows what this thing is? To me, the Chrome OS thing is highly interesting.” Of course, what would a Ballmer comment be without just a dash of hostility? He then went on to say, “I don’t know if they can’t make up their mind or what the problem is over there, but the last time I checked, you don’t need two client operating systems. It’s good to have one.”

But wait Mr. Ballmer, aren’t you the CEO of a company that currently Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows CE and Windows Mobile on the market? No? OK, just checking.

Back in February, Windows 7 was rumored to be hitting retail sometime in September. Well, Microsoft has just release official word that the OS’ final version will in fact be available to the public on October 22nd.

So, come October 22nd, we will finally get the chance to see if Microsoft will be able to break free of its tarnished reputation due to early versions of Windows Vista.

In reality I think it will go something like this: Windows enthusiasts will love it, Mac enthusiasts will hate it and Linux enthusiasts will laugh at both of them.

    Windows Vista SP2 Coming Soon?

What would you choose between Windows 7 or Windows Vista SP2? Do we need that second service pack? Well Microsoft seems to think so as it has sent it to testers. That’s what the rumors say, which means we might get SP2 before Windows 7. The thing is that we might not want that SP2, isn’t that true Vista users? We might feel like we deserve an almost free upgrade to Windows 7. What do you say Microsoft? Wouldn’t it be fair of you to sell that Windows 7 at a heavily discounted price for all current Vista users?

Is it a netbook? Is it a laptop? No! It’s Dell’s Inspiron Mini 12.

Previously the Inspiron Mini 12 was a Vista only machine but thanks to a recent update from Dell, that is no longer the case. You can now order the Inspiron Mini 12 with either Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP, a sigh of relief for those looking to order the device.

Starting at just $499, the Ubuntu Linux version of the Mini 12 is the cheapest, with the Windows XP version starting at $549. Of course, with all the added do-dads and what not, you’re sure to be paying above those prices.

  • Seinfeld to Sell Windows Vista

Who would have imagined that genius comedian Jerry Seinfeld would be approached by Microsoft and hired for one of the biggest advertising campaigns in Microsoft’s company. But I guess it takes a comedian to sell a product which has been laughed at for such a long time now.

Seinfeld will get about $10 million to star in a few new commercials. Joining him will be none other than retired Bill Gates. The new commercials will air starting with September 4th and we’ll serve them to you a minute later, as soon as they hit YouTube or similar sites. Microsoft will do anything to revitalize Vista until Windows 7 hits the market. Will we be fooled?

The funny things is that Jerry Seinfeld, the main character of the popular Seinfeld show always happened to own Macs. I wonder what computer does the real Jerry Seinfeld use.

  • Windows 7 is the next challenge for Microsoft and I am really curious to see if they can screw up yet another OS. We’re all so thrilled with Vista that we’d change it with anything else available. (more…)

  • MSI Wind to Run on OS X

I’ve been making a little fun of small laptops all day. Sure they are small, they are affordable, they are really mobile, they are pretty fast, but they are small. Here’s something that made me reconsider their power. An MSI Wind has been hacked and tricked into believing it’s a Mac when in fact it isn’t.

    Windows 7-teen?

    Video: Multi-Touch in Windows 7
The web is full of pictures and news about Windows 7. Apparently Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer have announced it. Isn’t this Windows Seventeen? I must be counting wrong but I am sure there were more versions that 7. Are they skipping Vista? Denial comes first I’ll give them that.

    Vista iPhone
I thought I was having a nightmare for a second there. Why would anyone create a skin based on a Microsoft operating system that not only didn’t work as supposed to but it also tried and failed to copy Apple’s OS. So why on Earth would you do that to your iPhone?

VistaPerfection 2.0 is a Windows Vista skin with icons, wallpapers sound effects, a Sidebar and a Start menu. Would I do it to my iPhone? No I wouldn’t. Would I throw eggs at Steve Ballmer for what he did with Vista and more? Where’s the eggs basket?
