Litl Webbook is a lot expensive

The Litl Webbook is one of the most unique devices that I have seen in a while. It can be used as a netbook with a 12.1 inch screen and 1.6GHz Atom-based processor. It also has 1 GB of memory, 2GB of storage, 802.11 b/g WiFi, plus 2 USB 2.0 jacks.

However, its main unique feature is that the Litl Webbook can bend over backwards and become a display for enjoying video or photo content. In other words, it is a netbook that can act as a slightly independent display. That is pretty neat, but I’m not certain it is worth the $699 price tag which does not include $19 for the remote control.

  • Here’s another mini-notebook, or netbook, or webbook. No matter how we end up calling them they are still the same thing. Very small portable PCs from various companies that try to make some money in the Eee style. Carphone Warehouse has a webbook deal for you.

This one is a 10.2 computer made by Elonex Technology, a Chinese company. You will get it fro about $440 straight up or with a 2 year 3GB mobile broadband agreement from Orange UK. In this latter case you would end up paying $50 per month for everything.

Let’s take a look at this webbook and its specs:

    • Linux/Windows XP
    • integrated b/g WiFi
    • three USB ports
    • 1.6GHz processor
    • 512MB DDRII RAM
    • an SD/MMC memory card reader
    • 84-key QWERTY keyboard
    • Weight 1.3kg
    • 2GB of flash memory upgradeable to a 2.5 inch HDD
    • audio out/in
    • VGA Monitor Out
    • three cell Lithium Polymer for up to 2.5 hours of power.

Impressed yet? Carphone Warehouse says they have more Elonex laptops coming soon.
