At the rate that the weather is going crazy these days, the need to be aware of current weather conditions is a must. With the WeatherBug Elite Premium Weather app for the Palm webOS, you can now be informed when to bring an umbrella or raincoat along or even prepare for snowy weather. It can also be useful for people who are planning trips such as the beaches or going abroad. This is an ad-free app that puts the multi-touch interface of Palm devices to good use. The WeatherBug Elite Premium Weather app for the Palm web OS is now available for an introductory price of $1.99 at the Palm App Catalog.

Palm Eos unveiled next week?

It seems that we have evidence to support the rumor that Palm is gearing up to launch their webOS touting Eos sometime next month. According to TechCrunch, Palm will unveil the phone sometime next week in leiu of Fashion Week.

This would somewhat make sense since the Eos is said to feature a low price and sleek design. Either way, we won’t know if this phone even exists (although we do have some proof) until Palm makes an official announcement. We’ll keep you posted.

  • It seems that Palm might not be the cheeky, lovable company it’s made out to be as a user recently took the look at some of the underlying code found in webOS and came up with some not so lovable information: Palm is watching you.

That’s right, code found in webOS reveals that the Pre sends the following data back to Palm at least once daily:

    • Location
    • Which apps you’ve used and for how long
    • App crash logs
    • Installed apps

Now it’s fine that they check what apps are being used and such considering it will help them further debug webOS, but do they really need to know our location each and every day? Frightening, I know. Then again, the chances of Palm using this information to incriminate you in anyway is slim to none, so in the end, you probably have nothing to worry about.
