It seems like AT&T is on a roll this week, so on top of the recently launched Pantech Matrix and Samsung Propel there is a new SonyEricsson cellphone on their catalog, more specifically the W760a. According to the AT&T website, the device costs $120 after discounts which can’t be considered a bad price.

Interesting features on the W760a? How about integrated GPS with WayFinder Navigator? Or what do you think of the mobile email support with services such as AOL, Yahoo, AIM, Windows Live? Not good enough? Maybe the 3.2-megapixel camera is the extra you really need?

There are still more goodies on the Walkman phone, like ShakeControl that lets you shake the cellphone to skip tracks, and a nice screen that measures 2.2-inches

Are they running out of new designs in the Sony Ericsson’s lab or are they just porting over cell phones with a few changes from different segments? After the Rika, we have news about yet another cellphone that’s going for the Walkman branding, the F305 gaming phone, which will become the W305 when it is released next year in March. Going by the code name of “Yao” (F305 was called Ying), the W305 will sport pretty much the same features as the F305 before it was Walkmanized, dropping the gaming keys on top for the Walkman button, a 2-megapixel camera, a 176×220 display, and most probably EDGE support, making this another low-ender in the Walkman category. More details as we find them!

Sony Ericsson W570 Concept Phone

Here’s a good looking concept phone. It’s a slider from Sony Ericsson and it might just be the next Walkman phone. The possible future music phone has the Walkman logo visible on the bottom and it shows a memory stick slot on the left side. That’s about all the features we can figure out so far! No, wait! There’s one more! The W570 comes in blue and white. There you have it then. The concept phone from Sony Ericsson isn’t confirmed yet. We’ll be there to see it hit the streets if it will ever do that.

We could have done with some more details on this upcoming Walkmanized G705, but all we can bring to you as of now is another clandestine shot of the Rika, this time clad in sultry red. We are still speculating on what it holds other than dedicated music controls and 3G (evident by the front-facing camera) but with an official announcement already being prepped, we could expect to know more in a few days. If the rumored official announcement does come through this month, we might even see this mysterious slider hit the shelves just in time for Christmas!

Sony Walkman MP3 Players: B-Series

While all the other companies that create MP3 players try to make their product have a futuristic design, Sony is against that and goes for the vintage look that Walkmans had in the late 80’s. In this case we’re talking about their “new” MP3 players, the B-Series.

As you can see by the image, the B-Series look like something of the past, it doesn’t have any resemblance to an iPod or Creative player. The big size is probably caused by the USB interface, so you have the “Plug and Play” function and can easily transfer files to a PC or Mac.

In terms of sound quality, the reviewers at C-Net gave an “OK” score, which means it could be better, right? The player can have 1GB or 2GB of internal (flash) memory, FM radio, voice recording, and a tiny display.

  • Sony Ericsson Rika Gets Leaked

There’s not much info on the Sony Ericsson Rika yet. People say it’s a Walkman model of the Sony Ericsson G705. Besides the supposed music capabilities, the Rika seems to have a front camera which must mean it has 3G support.

Sony Ericsson hasn’t announced it yet, so that’s all we have so far: a picture and a bunch of maybes.

Sony W910i MOBO Edition On its Way

Sony Ericsson has unveiled a new version of their popular W910i walkman phone  - the SE W910i MOBO Edition. This announcement came a month before the 2008 MOBO Awards that will be held at the Wembley Arena in London. The specifications of the new phone, however, hasn’t been fully released to the public. But do know that the W910i MOBO should be on sale later this year, only across the UK and only via Carphone Warehouse.

As it is another version of the W910i walkman phone, then most probably the phone will come with pre-installed MOBO content. Also, primary staples of the original phone will probably be still there like its design, measurement and certain features. Features like a Walkman Player (version 3.0), TrackID, motion sensor, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, HSDPA 2100 MHz connectivity, a 2.4 inch TFT display with 256K colors and a QVGA resolution, NetFront browser, email and IM, JAVA MIDP 2.0, a 2 MP camera with video recording, 40MB of internal memory and support for Memory Stick Micro cards would probably be in this new phone.

The handset price is still unknown but most probably, the the special phone will cost more than its original version (which is available across Europe for retail prices under 300 Euros).

    Thanks Trevor

    Sony W350a Walkman for AT&T

Since not everybody would be vying for a piece of Apple cake from AT&T, the carrier has added one more mobile phone to its ever-growing portfolio of Walkman phones. This time, it’s the Sony Ericsson W350a, the Americanized version of the January-announced W350. Our jaded eyes fail to see anything special with this one as we could only find a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth, and an M2 slot behind it’s controls-laden flap. AT&T seems to think so too and is willing to offer the phone for free with service. Available in enticing hues of ice blue, electric black, and white.

Like what you see in the picture? These colored Walkmans from Sony have appeared on Sony’s site in New Zealand.

We are talking about three new Sony models fresh off the oven, the NWZ-E435, NWZ-E436, and NWZ-E438. They all have a 2 inch QVGA LCD display, an FM tuner, codec support for MP3, AAC, WMA, and Linear PCM files. The players will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB versions with various colors to chose from. So check out the picture? Do you like what you see? Do you have that deja-voodoo feeling? Are we looking at a possible competitor of the iPhone? Does it look similar to the Omnia or Instinct from Samsung?

The W1 is maybe a possible future Walkman series phone from Sony Ericsson. We’ve seen lots of mid range Walkman phones just yesterday. For those that need good music and smartphone features all rolled into one, the iPhone W1 could be the perfect choice for you. When it arrives. If it arrives…

The W1 looks good on paper. It should be a Windows Mobile phone with 32GB internal memory. There’s VGA display, a 6.1 megapixels camera and WVGA video recording. Of course there’s WiFi b/g and TV out. Did I miss anything from that picture? Well read it for yourself again then!

Looking forward to see more details about this phone. And I am sure I am not the only one waiting in line.

    Sony Ericsson Launches the W902

Sony Ericsson seems eager to get back on track after having a disastrous second quarter this year. And what better way of getting more money than by selling more cell phones. Here we have the W902 Walkman phone. Don’t be fooled by the looks, this is a phone for the public. The public that loves music of course. It’s not the smartphone you might be looking for. (more…)

Red Sony Ericsson W580 from AT&T

Lately whenever I see AT&T written, I read 3G iPhone. Well, to my surprise, AT&T sells other phones too! I wasn’t expecting this really. Besides working hard for the July 11th events and leaking some of that stuff out, they are actually getting new other handsets. Like the red Sony Ericsson W580. Not exactly new since they already have it in so many other colors: in black, white, gray, pink and green.

Actually it’s not really news but a rumor about the next Sony Ericsson Walkman phone which is supposed to offer 16GB storage space. There aren’t any other clear specs but it’s possible this new phone will follow the line of the previous W950 or the W960 (check picture above).

  • Sony Ericsson W580i in Green

    W580i%20green.jpg

Realizing it couldn’t stop at being pink, the Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman phone is now available in a new and fresher color — jungle green. It looks a bit tacky in my eyes — like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the guise of a cellular phone. But then again, tastes vary, and I’m sure many would find this color scheme preferable. If you’re forgotten, the original Sony Ericsson W580i is a simple white music phone with 2-megapixel camera.

  • NW-E020F.jpg

Sony has announced the new line of stick music players — the Walkman NW-E020F series — in Japan. The Walkman NW-E020F model is a thin, compact, stick-like music player with an integrated USB terminal at the tip. Think thumb drive music player. The series currently has three lined products:

The NW-E026F (4 GB flash memory, expected to sell for US$149)
The NW-E025F (2 GB flash memory, expected to sell for US$120)
The NW-E023F (1 GB flash memory, expected to sell for US$102)

These models, which will be released on March 8 will be available in the colors: pure white and precious gold, Jewel pink and pink, forest green and ocean blue, blazing red and indigo, and black and shiny silver.

Since the Sony Walkman NW-E020F players have USB terminals integrated onto them, you can connect them with your PC directly for ultra-easy music downloads. The battery is also super efficient, promising three hours of play time with only 3 minutes of charging. The maximum playtime it can handle is 30 hours. The Sony Walkman NW-E020F series is FM radio equipped, contains color LCD with three lines for song info, can play MP3/WMA/non-copyrighted AAC/linear PCM music formats, 5 band equalizers, and can act as a normal USB stick.

The device can be sold as is, or could come bundled with a Sony Style-Up panel (pic after the jump), which could be used to pimp your Walkman. It also comes with a Sony EX monitor headphones, the MDR-EX90SL. Other accessories include leather carrying case, CKH’s clear drop-proof case, silicon case, a clip, and an armband.

    More pics after the jump.
