Atree Portable Media Player

Now Atree may be a virtual unknown but they do have something great to offer. That offer comes in the form of this neat brand new portable multimedia player (PMP) known as the J2 for the masses - released in Korea, it comes with a 2.4″ display as well as a blinking LED ‘Red Eye’.

The J2 comes with audio and video playback, an integrated FM radio, voice recording capability, a microSD memory card slot (maximum of 8GB), and a battery that goes for 38 hours with music or 8 hours for video playback. It will come in 4GB and 8GB capacities, and looks pretty much like a rudimentary PMP.

P20 Portable Media Player

iriver announced that Japan will get the P20, a new PMP starting February 27. But there is a problem though, and that is news that only 200 customers will be able to get their hands on this limited stock portable media player.

The Korean company first showcased the device last summer during the IFA 2008 exhibition in Berlin. It features 80GB of storage, a 4.1-AMOLED touchscreen with 480×272 resolution, an FM tuner with recording function, a rechargeable battery, a voice recording function and a USB 2.0 port.

The P20 can be used to view MS Office documents, HTML pages or PDFs. It’s also compatible to MPEG1,2,4, Xvid, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, WMV, MP3, OGG, WMA and FLAC files. Windows 2000/XP/Vista is supported.

Here’s something I wasn’t exactly waiting for at today’s “Let’s Rock” event. Besides all the iPods that we’ve seen, besides the new iTunes 8.0, besides the iPhone/iPod touch 2.1 firmware, Apple has introduced a new feature to the iPod. Voice recording. That’s something I would have wanted more than once in the past.
