Viewsonic MovieBook: Not your average PMP

Viewsonic has made a lot of interesting displays and digital picture frames, and their newest product, the MovieBook, is not your typical PMP.

The MovieBook has a 4.3 inch 800 x 480 screen, and supports formats such as MKV, RM/RMVB, and FLAC. It has enough memory for 8GB of storage, as well as more room with a microSD slot. The battery is good enough for 12 hours of audio and 6 hours of video. It can also be plugged into a PC or TV for screen expansion, and even comes with a remote.

The Viewsonic MovieBook should available just in time for the holidays for about $129.99.

After we’ve seen Apple refresh some of its laptops and desktops lines yesterday, we now have some new Viewsonic laptops to show you. The new ViewBooks and ViewBook Pro run Windows 7 and they have been announced just in time considering that tomorrow Microsoft will unveil the new OS.

The ViewBook Pro will offer you an aluminum chassis, a 13.3-inch display, a low-voltage Core 2 Duo processor and an interesting interchangeable optical drive / second battery feature. The ViewBook Pro will get you up to 12 hours of battery life when using two batteries at once and in case you don’t want the extra battery you’re still left with 8 hours of autonomy.

Viewsonic also has three new ViewBooks, the 120, 130 and the 140. They will be 12-, 13.3- and 14-inch laptops coming with features like a Celeron or Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of RAM, 250GB / 320GB hard drives and Windows 7 running in the background. The ViewBooks will cost you well under $1,000 while the ViewBook Pro will be priced anywhere between $999 and $1,099.
