Apple announces iPhone 3GS

Just as rumors had suggested, Apple has gone ahead and unveiled the iPhone 3G’s successor at this year’s WWDC; the iPhone 3GS.

So far we know that this new device will have a 3MP camera which has all sorts of new features like auto focus, auto white balance, and last but not least video capture. That’s right, the iPhone 3GS will be able to capture video at 30fps with audio, something consumers have been asking for since the first iPhone was released.

Of course, the phone is also faster with the S is 3GS presumably standing for speed. This means faster application launches along with faster internet connections.

This is about all we know as of now but we are covering Apple’s WWDC live so be sure to check it out to get the latest updates.

Update: Thanks to our live coverage, we now know that the 16GB iPhone 3GS will cost $199 while the 32GB iPhone 3GS will cost $299 and it will come in only black and white. Furthermore, the iPhone 3G will still be available to consumers for just $99.
