In less than 10 minutes you will be able to watch U2 perform live on YouTube. The show starts at 8:30PM PT and anyone will be able to tune in and watch it. Well, almost anyone will be able to watch it as YouTube will make it available officially to only 16 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, U.K. and the USA. But don’t worry, your country might also get it so don’t forget to tune in! The show is being streamed from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and we don’t need any tickets. Go grab your gear and start the party. What’s your favorite U2 song anyway?

Place your bets now folks! Today’s question is fairly simple: who do you think Bone (from U2 of course) loves most? Is it U2’s official sponsor, RIM, a company with great phones that happens to be pouring in lots of cash in this U2 partnership, or Palm, a company that’s fighting to rise from the dead, in which Bono happens to be currently investing? I know, the question is pretty difficult to answer, and it’s possible that even Bono doesn’t know the real answer.
While U2 is performing in front of thousands of people with RIM’s logo hanging around stadiums and U2 events, Elevation Partners is buying more Palm shares. The investor has purchased 2.2 million shares for $35 million. That means that EP is now controlling 42% of Palm and Bono has an important role in that as EP’s Managing Director and Co-Founder. So what do you think? Palm or RIM?

RIM’s new BlackBerry 9630 seems to get a new name. The handset will be called the “Tour” when it will arrive latter this supper. The name hasn’t been officially confirmed yet but coincidentally two new domains have been recently registered: www.blackberry9630.com and www.blackberrytour.com. Does the Tour have anything to do with U2’s upcoming “360 Degrees” concert tour? We suspect so, especially as we know that the band together with RIM are working on something special for BlackBerries.

The fact that Bono and his U2 have left Apple and joined RIM isn’t news anymore. But what got our attention lately was the possibility for RIM to make a special BlackBerry dedicated to U2. Here’s what Bono himself said about RIM:
I’m very excited about this. Research In Motion is going to give us what Apple wouldn’t — access to their labs and their people so we can do something really spectacular.
Does that mean a new phone? Bono says that “you’re not far off.” A special edition U2 BlackBerry would be quite interesting but at this point we don’t have any idea if that is going to happen. Most likely we’ll see an older Berry packed with an impressive U2 collection. We’ll be waiting for Bono to tell us more about the initiative.

In an unpredictable move, U2 has decided to dump Apple. The love story that started in 2004 with that iPod U2 Special Edition has come to an end. But where a love story ends, a new one is bound to start. And a more, dare we say, lucrative one is going to start between U2 and RIM. The BlackBerry makers are on board as official sponsors for U2’s next tour, the “U2 360″ which will bring U2 in Europe and North America. U2 fans will still go to their concerts, no matter who will sponsor the event. And Apple fans will still buy its products, no matter if U2 is still there or not. With all that in mind, we’re curios to see who’s going to bring Apple into its bed now that U2 is gone?
