A few months ago Lenovo presented a new laptop codenamed IdeaPad U150, and by this time it’s almost ready for purchase on the US, with the base model costing $700 while the top-notch model is priced at $850.
The IdeaPad U150 is a 11.6-inch model with a 1.3GHz Pentium dual-core processor for the base model, with 3GB of RAM and 250GB on the hard-drive. On the other hand, the top-notch model boasts a 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo processor with extra cache, more 4GB of RAM, and a better hard-drive with 320GB of capacity. Both laptops come with a 6-cell battery.

MSI has big plans for the netbook business especially considering that Windows 7 is soon going to be available worldwide. The company plans to launch what looks to be a totally hot netbook next year. The U150 will use Intel’s Pine Trail chipset and will offer you a resistive touchscreen. We don’t have all the features just yet but the U150 already looks promising. We’ll be waiting for CES 2010 to see Intel’s Pine Trail chipset at work and we’re counting on more netbook makers to start planning for this new generation of touch-friendly netbooks which will be running Windows 7.
