All the way from China comes a cellphone like no other: it has above the average features, and a price below the normal.
In other words, the T160i-WIFI is a cellphone that supports JAVA and TV, bluetooth, and best of all it has WiFi - all of this for $157. The list of good details doesn’t stop there, the T160i has dual cameras so you can take photos and do some video calls, and even a touchscreen. If you thought that a cellphone with WiFi for that price is a good pick, just add the 8.1-megapixel camera and you have an excellent pick. Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever get to see this device on the US, because it looks like a “China only” phone.

The new iPhone will be an even better machine for media content which means you will be able to enjoy even more video shows. But what about streaming video to, say, a home cinema system?
Apple has a new patent “Media out interface” which we might see implemented soon. According to it the iPhone should be capable of streaming video content from the dock to a TV monitor. The handset will be controlled with the TV/Apple remote and that remote will also let you answer and end incoming calls. Of course the whole playback will be stopped every time you’re making a call.
That’s basically how everything should work but we have no idea when these new features will be available. Maybe this June?

FLO TV is a service offered by Qualcomm and from what we hear various smartphones will get it including the iPHone. The service will bring you mobile TV via add-on peripherals including an iPhone 3.0-compatible antenna or chip that’s curently being developed. These accessories might not be available right away and they might only hit the market later next year, but at least we know watching TV on the go is going to be even easier in the future.
Qualcomm will also develop similar gadgets for Windows Mobile phones. All that’s needed is a device that connects over WiFi or Bluetooth to get that TV signal in. What do you think? Would you be interested in such a service? How much would you be willing to pay for it?

You’re in for a deja-vu here. The LG KB770 will remind you of HTC’s Touch HD smartphone when it comes to watching videos on your phone. There’s a big difference though. The LG KB770 comes with a DVB-T tuner which will get you free-to-air digital TV broadcasts. It comes with a 3 inch touchscreen for a great TV watching experience.
Other than that the KB770 has tri-band GSM and WCDMA 2100 support, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA connectivity, but not WiFi support. And there’s not GPS which is really surprising. The 3 megapixel digital camera with autofocus will also come in handy and you get a second camera for video calling. Well we could be impressed but we’d rather disappointed it lacks two major features.
The phone might already be available in Germany and you’ll get it for 449 Euro without a contract.

The Geneva Sound Home Theater is the latest home theater that’s worth mentioning. It can also easily qualify as the latest iPod accessory. And also as a pretty fancy TV stand.
It features a 2.1 surround sound with Embracing Sound DSP technology, an all-digital 700W amplifier, seven speakers as well as a rocking 12 inch subwoofer. It already has an integrated dock for your iPod/iPhone and an interior space for more high tech gadgets you might want to store.
Make up your mind between two colors, white or black, and it can be yours for a bargain price of $3,999, including the dude in white gloves who comes and delivers it to your home and sets it up for you! Then of course, the dude leaves and you get to keep the Geneva Sound Home Theater. Wait did I say it’s a bargain price? I’ll have to reconsider that.

Do you have a phone with a really big touchscreen LCD? Do you have an unlimited data plan and some good 3G coverage? If you have mostly positive answers and you have a passion for TV shows then I’m sure you are going to appreciate the new YouTube service. Together with CBS it will offer full-length TV shows.
The full episodes will include non-skippable ads but I’m sure that’s not going to be a problem. CBS and YouTube will split the revenues and you will get the free shows. The only downside to all this is that the service will be available only in the USA for now.

We’ve heard quite a lot about AT&T’s marketing ideas these last couple of days. First we had the $40 iPhone plans for deaf people, then we heard AT&T are going to sell the new 3G iPhone for $199 for a two year subscription plan and today we hear that AT&T are launching cell phone TV Plans.
First of all I am the kind of guy that mostly uses his cell phone for, and you will laugh at this, calling people. I know, that’s so unusual right? I wouldn’t want to take pictures or watch TV on a 3 inch screen.
But there are lots of people who would do those things to a cell phone and this $15/month plan will suit them. AT&T will match Verizon Wireless’ V Cast Mobile TV and the service will be delivered via the same company Qualcomm Inc. The plan includes 10 channels. 8 are shared with Verizon: CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN Mobile TV, Fox Mobile, MTV, NBC 2Go, NBC News 2Go and Nickelodeon and 2 are exclusive: PIX, which screens movies from Sony Pictures, and CNN Mobile Live.
But there’s a catch. You will only have to phones on which this service will be available starting Sunday. These are the LG Vu, a touch screen phone for $299.99, and the Samsung Access, a more traditional phone for $199.99. Prices apply after a $100 rebate and only for 2-year plans. The service will be available in more than 58 locations across the USA.
If you are always watching TV and this AT&T plan sounds like a good idea, maybe you should also know that more and more TV stations are considering mobile broadcasting for free. This is a rumor thing just yet and these kind of services will be available in 2009.

Samsung has recently unveiled the latest SGH-P960 Mobile TV supporting DVB-CBMS and OMA-BCAST. Equipping DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting) the device will be available in Europe in the month of May. However, it seems like that it will never land on the US territory. The P960 delivers a seamless mobile TV playback on its 2.6 inch QVGA screen. A time shifting feature pause the mobile TV while receiving calls. It is interesting to note that this small device comes with the picture in picture option that lets the users view two shows at one time.

Sony has just unveiled two new pocket TVs for the Japanese market with very basic functions: watching TV and listening to the radio. The XDV-D500 is Sony’s “Bravia” pocket TV with 1-Seg TV tuner, 3.0-inch WQVGA TFT screen, 2GB internal memory, and AM/FM radio tuner. It can be used to watch TV for 8 hours straight and to listen to the radio for 27 hours. The XDV-G200, on the other hand, is a simpler device with a 2-inch QVGA screen and also featuring 1Seg TV tuner as well as an AM/FM radio tuner. It can last for 8 hours when watching TV and 18 hours when listening to the radio. The question is, with the number of phones with 1-Seg TV tuner in Japan, will these new pocket TVs sell?
Check out the product page of the XDV-D500 and the XDV-D200.

Ah, the perfect thing to take on a weekend picnic. Nu Inc., a Taiwan based consumer electronics company, unveiled its new portable TV called the WTW154 Wireless Displayer at the Taitronics Bangkok 2007. Measuring 48cm x 26.5cm x 6.5cm, the WTW154 weighs in at a slightly bulky 4.5kg. The best part? It’s waterproof. Yes, that’s right - so you can now take a portable TV to your poolside and not worry about splashing water on it. Or even getting rained on.
Because it is slim, it is also ideal for use in your kitchen or workshop. The Nu wireless TV is dust-resistant as well. The display is crisp, and the device features multiple video and audio inputs. The water-resistance feature of the WTW154 boasts an IP-65 rating. On a full battery, you can watch up to 2.5 hours nonstop.
The display is a nice 15.4″ 16:10 wide-screen LCD with rated brightness of 400 cd/m2 and offers a wide viewing angle. The resolution offered by it is 1280×800 pixels. Compatible with IEEE 802.11a/g and able to operate in 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges, the WTW154 runs on Li-Polymer battery.
Warranty is void if the unit is struck by lightning. Bet you already knew that, didn’t you? No word on the pricing.
