With the Pre and the iPhone 3GS out there is no wonder that Palm decided to drop the price of its Treo Pro GSM. You can purchase the unlocked smartphone for just $399 which is a full $150 cheaper than before. The Palm Treo Pro GSM is still a dependable Windows Mobile smartphone which will offer you important features like WiFi and 3G connectivity, GPS, a full QWERTY keyboard, a touchscreen display and lots of tools to help you surf the Internet while on the go and manage some of your important corporate documents. Anyone still interested in the Treo Pro?

It looks like Sprint is really hot today. We’ve seen the Rumor 2 and the Moto i9 which were officially released today and they got a decent companion, the Palm Treo Pro.

The Treo Pro will be available to you starting today for $299.99 before a $100 mail-in rebate but only with an Everything Plan or data plan of $30 or more. What do you think? Is it worth getting the Treo Pro today when the Pre is coming this summer?

  • The Palm Treo Pro has arrived to Canada and Bell Mobility is the carrier eager to release it. Canadian subscribers can get the Treo Pro for just $99.95 on a three year contract. Does that sound good to you or you’d rather not get into such a long commitment?

John Traynor, vice president, business products, Palm, Inc. said:

Treo Pro is a perfect fit for the busy business professional or casual user who needs on-the-go access to business tools or their personal email. Treo Pro’s capabilities, including Wi-Fi and GPS, ensure users can be highly responsive, available and productive with a powerful yet effortless mobile experience.

The Palm Treo Pro will be ready to meet your communication needs:

    • Full QWERTY keyboard
    • High-resolution color LCD touch screen
    • Dedicated email and calendar buttons for fast one-button access
    • Ringer switch, which silences the device immediately
    • One-touch Wi-Fi button for an easy, fast Wi-Fi connection experience (802.11b/g)
    • Screen saver, which lets users know at a glance – without turning on the device – what time it is and whether they have missed a call or have a new SMS message
    • New voicemail indicator, which flashes to let users know that a voicemail is waiting

We’ve seen the Sprint Palm Treo Pro briefly on Sprint’s website a few days ago and now we know it’s only going to arrive on February 15. In the mean time you can pre-order the handset from Best Buy which seems ready to sell it for you for the special price of $699. And you will receive it in about two weeks time.

I guess we shouldn’t remind you that the Pre is coming and you’d be better off waiting for that phone, right?

Sprint has posted the CDMA Treo Pro on its site today. Great news right? The Windows Mobile phone was supposed to be available for $249.99 with a two-year contract or for $549.99 without a contract.

But guess what? Sprint made a mistake and it has pulled the phone from the site already. The phone has to go through the “customary testing process” which means we have no idea when the phone will arrive. In their own words:

Sprint inadvertently posted information on Sprint.com regarding an upcoming product, Palm Treo Pro, this morning. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Sprint looks forward to welcoming this exciting, new device into our portfolio as soon as it has been approved through our customary testing process. We will share details on the correct availability date as soon as the standard testing of both the device and its interaction with our network has concluded. Thank you for your interest in Sprint products.

  • Is Sprint going to release the Palm Treo Pro soon? We don’t know even if the CDMA Treo Pro is being manufactured, let alone come from a Sprint store. But it looks like people have seen a “Sprint Treo850e” showing 160 kbps with .229s of latency on the spcsdns.net network while checking mobule speed tests. Hmm! Ok folks, I need more than that! Take a look at the screenshot above and make up your own mind. But if Sprint is bringing the Treo Pro, we’ll be on it!

    Palm Treo Pro Pictures Leaked

Is this the new Treo that Palm is getting ready for 2009? They have been plans for the upcoming year, but if they want to sell those phones they ordered, they need some good handsets.

This is the Treo Pro, supposed to work on Windows Mobile. So there’s no Palm OS for now. The flash presentation was taken down from Palm’s site leaving us wanting for more. We need specs, prices and launch date. In the mean time enjoy the screens!
