All The Latest Cell Phone, Gadget and Tech News

The HTC Touch Pro2 and the HTC Snap are among the first smartphones out there that will be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5. We have been aware of all this for a few months but it’s only now that we are able to confirm it. Both phones are upgradeable, at least in theory, to Windows Mobile 6.5. However, depending on where you purchased your Touch Pro2 or Snap phone from, you might not be able to use the upgrade yet. Minor things like carrier branding or phone locking could prevent you from getting the much needed upgrade right now. If that happens then go ahead and complain to customer service about it. You should definitely be able to enjoy Windows Mobile 6.5 no matter what carrier sold you the Touch Pro2 or the Snap. After all, that’s why you purchased these phones in the first place, right?

AT&T has a few surprises for its subscribers. It looks like the company plans to launch brand new HTC and Garmin-Asus phones soon so we should definitely check them out.

AT&T will launch the HTC Touch Pro2 as the Tilt2 and the Touch Diamond2 as the Pure. The Tilt2 will cost $299.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract while the Pure will cost $199 under the same circumstances. In case you’re not planning a new AT&T agreement then you can purchase the phones for the full price of $499.99 and $399.99, respectively.

The Garmin-Asus phone coming from AT&T is none other than the nuvifone G60. Believe it or not the phone is going to be sold soon for $299.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract or for $549.99.

We don’t have any release dates just yet, which means you have plenty of time to think about your next AT&T phone.

  • Go ahead and add this to the growing list of Windows phones that will be released on October 6th.  AT&Ters eagerly waiting for the Touch Pro2 should breathe a sigh of relief as BGR now has it on good authority that the device, called the Tilt 2 on AT&T, will be out the door on that much anticipated 6th day of October.  Yes, it is a bit late, seeing that the Pro2 is already available on Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint, but then AT&T subscribers will at least have Windows Mobile 6.5 out of the box, a kick in the teeth for the customers on other networks who will have to upgrade their devices to 6.5.

  • September 11 will not only remind you how many years have passed since those dreadful planes crashed into the towers and the Pentagon but it will also be the day when Verizon starts selling the HTC Touch Pro2.

The phone has been officially unveiled and it will cost you $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a 2-year contract. And in case you’re not sure what carrier to choose for your future HTC Touch Pro2 then let me remind you what Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s Touch Pro2 costs: $349.99. And in case you don’t want a new contract then Verizon will sell the phone for just $489.99. How does that sound?

We knew it was coming since everyone else will also sell this handset but we didn’t know the date. Now we do! The HTC Touch Pro2 will be available in Sprint stores starting with September 8. And we have the price for it too. If you’re willing to spend $349.99 and get yourself a new 2-year Sprint contract you’ll be able to take home a brand new Windows Mobile phone from HTC. And when you get your budget in order for the big event make sure you think about that extra $100 you’ll have to pay since, as always, there’s a $100 mail-in rebate. So what do you say? Have you decided which carrier to approach for the HTC Touch Pro2?

  • Just as we had learned at the end of the July, T-Mobile has put HTC’s Touch Pro2 handset up for sale for $349.99 with a 2 year contract.

This device features a Qualcomm 528MHz processor, 3.6-inch touchscreen, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.2MP camera with auto focus, GPS, WiFI, a microSDHC slot and Windows Mobile 6.1 with TouchFLO 3D.

While the Touch Pro2’s features make it a very capable handset, it’s $349.99 price tag could potentially turn some consumers away.

  • AT&T branded Touch Pro2 spotted

What you see above is the first ever live shot of an AT&T branded HTC Touch Pro2. We already knew that it would be hitting T-Mobile and Verizon but had no official word of an AT&T version, luckily said picture has given us proof.

There’s no word as to when this device will actually hit AT&T but our sources tell us that it could potentially be called the AT&T Tilt 2 once it is released for the carrier. We’ll keep you posted as more news regarding this device emerges.

  • We already knew that Sprint is going to launch the HTC Touch Pro2 but we didn’t have any specific dates. According to this leaked document, Sprint should release the Touch Pro2 on September 3. Sprint has not confirmed any of this yet but we can probably assume the phone will be available at some point next month in Sprint stores. After all, everyone else is getting ready to launch their Touch Pro2 version, right?

  • Last time we talked about T-Mobile’s upcoming HTC Touch Pro2 we had no idea how much the phone will cost. And T-Mobile is still not saying anything about price tags. But with a few days to go until the phone will find its way into stores, new images of the handset and a few pricing details have leaked to the public. It looks like the HTC Touch Pro2 will be available for $299 with a new 2-year plan while those of you not interested in new contracts will have to pay $599 for the phone.

What do you say? Are you going to get your HTC Touch Pro2 next week from T-Mobile or you’re ready to wait until everyone else launches their version?

Sprint is another carrier ready to sell the HTC Touch Pro2. The phone will be available at an undisclosed time in the future as the HTC Rhodium. Sprint hasn’t fully announced it but as always, a human error made it possible for all mortal to know the carrier plans to launch it. The Rhodium has been spotted in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile application as a “compatible phone” which will offer you full audio and video content. All we need now are some arrival dates and prices.

  • Verizon has apparently decided to drop most smartphone prices down to only $99 when customers choose a new two-year agreement thus matching that AT&T $99 iPhone pricing. That means phones like the HTC Touch Pro, the BlackBerry Storm and many others will now be available for $99 with new contracts. The BlackBerry Tour and the Samsung Saga will still cost more than $99 and the upcoming Touch Pro2 and Storm 2 are definitely going to be a little more expensive too when Verizon will officially launch them. What $99 smartphone are you going to choose?

  • It was just yesterday that we’ve seen some leaked internal documents showing T-Mobile’s plans regarding the HTC Touch Pro2 and the Samsung Gravity 2. And today we have confirmation for the first phone. T-Mobile will be selling the HTC Touch Pro2 starting with August 12. Pricing details remain unknown but we have about two weeks to find them out for you!

Sometimes it’s worth waiting for your favorite phones, and if you happen to be waiting for the HTC Touch Pro2 or the Samsung Gravity 2 then you should know that August is your lucky T-Mobile month. The company is going to launch both phones in August so you’re basically days away from a new smartphone. According to the leaked documents presented here the HTC Touch Pro2 will be available on August 12 while the Samsung Gravity 2 is going to be available on August 19. We have no prices for you just yet but we’ll be waiting!

Those of you interested in an HTC Touch Pro2 smartphone from Telus, should check Best Buy instead. Best Buy Canada has the handset for sale and you can get the Touch Pro2 for just $249.99 CAD with a 3-year contract. The best part of the deal here is that Telus hasn’t even officially announced the new phone. Best Buy isn’t apparently aware of this or the company is listing the HTC phone in advanced intentionally. Is this a human error? It very well might be considering the image Best Buy displayed instead of the actual Touch Pro2 picture. Let us know if you were able to order your Touch Pro2 already. In the mean time we’ll be waiting for Telus to launch the handset too.

  • We told you this was happening a while ago and it seems HTC has already been manufacturing handsets featuring a 3.5mm headphone jack. In fact, one of the first phones ready packing the new audio jack will be the HTC Touch Pro2 and it looks like both Telus and Verizon will get this Touch Pro2 version. The phone will be available soon from both carriers but we have no exact arrival dates yet.
