We thought Vodafone would be the first carrier to make the second Android-powered cell phone, HTC Magic, available in Europe on May 5, but it looks like TIM, a carrier in Italy, might be the first to do that by a mere 24 hours. A quick call from the guys over at Technophone to the carrier revealed that the stores are already in stock and the handset has now appeared on TIM’s website; so a May 4th release doesn’t seem implausible. The HTC Magic has already been blessed by the FCC, so we may not have to wait long before the handset starts popping up Stateside too.

The N97 is going to be available soon everywhere as I am sure Nokia will want to release in as many markets as possible. The flagship phone will be available in Italy and TIM is going to bring it to its subscribers. The phone will cost €599 or at least that’s the price currently listed on TIM’s website. So what do you think? Is it still too expensive? It’s certainly much better than Expansys’ current price of £669.99 for the N97.

That first Android device, the HTC Dream has arrived in Italy and it’s going to be available from TIM. The phone will be offered for free for a contract but just in case you want to keep things simple you can also get it with a prepaid contract and it will cost you €429 or around $583. Would you be willing to pay that much for the G1 when the G2 is supposed to come out soon?

Last time we checked Huawei’s Android phone, it wasn’t working and nobody knew when it will be available and who will launch it. Now it looks like the Android smartphone will be launched by T-Mobile sometime in the third quarter. We don’t know if it’s T-Mobile USA or T-Mobile Europe or if it’s both. Nonetheless it makes sense for T-Mobile to look for more Android smartphones. And T-Mobile won’t be the only carrier to launch it. TIM Brazil is also said to be interested in the Huawei phone.

Last year we’ve shown you a Samsung C6620 cell phone launched exclusively by TIM in Italy. Now we have a different version of it available, the C6625. And it looks like the phone is going to be launched without a contract and it will cost $360.
Here’s what the C6625 is all about:

In Italy the 3G iPhone is coming too from Vodafone. But another mobile carrier, TIM is also going to offer the iPhone. As long as there’s competition we should see better offers coming from both of them.
