Here’s an interesting concept — What you see above is the Split Stick, a double-sided flash drive that features 2GB of storage on each end.

You may be wondering, why would anyone ever need this? But the makers say its the perfect solution for those who need both business and personal storage and don’t want to carry around 2 flash drives. Load up some pictures of your family, flip the switch, and get started on some business documents

Aesthetically you’ll be able to choose fro a wide array of colors along with the ability to get pretty much whatever you want laser etched on it. Best of all, the Split Stick will sell for just $20.

Kingston unveils 256GB thumb

Having 256GB on a thumb drive may seem like a luxury to some and a necessity to others. Whatever the case, this thing is expensive.

For $900 you will be able to grab one of Kingston’s 256GB DataTraveler 300 thumb drives. It has compatibility for just about ever OS you can throw at it along with data transfers of 20MB/sec read and 10MB/sec write.

And just for clarification, this thing is $900, you can buy several terabytes worth of space for that kind of money. Then again, it always costs to be an early adopter.

Netbooks are known for their small form factor, making them the perfect computers to carry with you wherever you go (if your cell phone isn’t enough, that is). However, they are also known to usually be absent of any CD/DVD drive making it a hassle to install any software that retails on a disc.

Well, to combat this, it’s rumored that Microsoft will not only sell Windows 7 on normal CDs, they will also offer them on thumb drives, making it virtually pain free to install on a netbook.

While this remains a rumor at this point the source comes from CNET so I’d say there is a pretty good chance of it happening.
