At first glance, this new iPhone accessory seems like any standard lighter plug-in charger for any iPhone or iPod everyone has today. But take a look closer and you will find that it can deliver more than that. The device is the Sirius XM Skydock which is actually the first-ever radio dock solution made for iPhones or the Ipod Touch.

Through the iPhone OS 3’s support for third-party hardware, this device transforms Apple handsets into full-fledged satellite radios. It is designed to operate via the car cigarette lighter to allow you to listen to all XM and ”The Best of SIRIUS” channels. It also charges your iPhone or iPod Touch while listening and plugged in.

The Sirius XM Skydock for the iPhone or iPod Touch retails for $119.00. No clue on when it would be available and has yet to gain full approval from the FCC. For now, it has been granted preliminary approval and is being further evaluated.

eBuddy Debuts on the iPhone

Back in May, eBuddy was released mainly for the Android mobile platform. However today it makes its formal debut and compatibility to the iPhone offering a new app that will give users to ability to communicate with others using AIM, Facebook Chat, ICQ, Gtalk, Windows Live Messenger and similar communication apps.

Actually, the eBuddy app was already at the App Store as early as last week. It was not until now when it was promoted, bringing stiff competition to the likes of Nimbuzz and fring .

eBuddy differentiates its support for Apple’s Push Notification Service, which allows a third-party server to ping the service in order to push out notifications to your device over a persistent IP connection.

When it comes to protection, passwords come into mind. But when you think about it, is it fool proof? Given the chance, anyone could simply make a wild guess and perhaps open your iPhone and see all your confidential files and do as they please. So what would be a great alternative security option then?

Well, there is a software company that has released an app where you can secure your iPhone with perhaps the one thing that many would be hard to crack; Voice Security. The software is the VOICESAFE where voice authentication is the only means to access your data and important files. Neat!

VOICESAFE stores PIN numbers of credit or debit cards, passwords for logins and simply secrets of all kinds on the iPhone– including the birthday surprise for your beloved one. When activating the VOICESAFE for the first time the user will be asked to record a sentence he/she would like to use as passphrase (e.g. “My voice is my passport”). The software then generates a voice profile to doubtlessly differentiate the iPhone’s owner from third party. The personal secrets stored on the mobile device will be displayed only after the iPhone application has both recognized the voice and the passphrase.

The software is actually now available at the iTunes store. If you want to try it out, there is a version which you can try for 4 weeks. If you want to get the actual app in its full version you can get the unlimited version at their main site.

While many people are lining up to get the Palm Pre which will be made available to the public today, the next thing people are thinking about would be what apps to get for it when they do get their units. Apparently, new owners will be given limited options as far as third-party apps and games which should become a concern.

But while the App Catalog may be in the beta stages, there is an alternative place to get some stuff to your new Palm Pre. The site is Cellufun, one of the largest mobile virtual communities in the world where millions of people play dozens of different social games and connect with each other.

The Palm Pre’s web browser will support access to Cellufun’s games, mobile blogging applications and mobile commerce opportunities, making it one of the few non-Palm applications available to early adopters of this new smart phone.
